The Debit Network Alliance (DNA) specifications provide for the adoption of chip card technology independent of brand with choice of technology. The DNA Shared Debit AID (“application identifier”) and specifications are available for use in the United States and its territories. They are made available to foster non-discriminary access, network portability, and transaction routing choice.
